enlarge the print on pages that don't give the option to do so?

To add to the other answer, the same strokes work on Chrome: Control and either + or -. You can also hold down Control and use the scroll wheel on your mouse.
If, for some reason, it still doesn't zoom, you can try to go to the print menu, and when you select your printer (at least in Chrome) you can select "Save to PDF", where you can save a copy of the webpage onto your computer, and you can zoom in on the text in Adobe Reader.

If you are talking about the print on web pages, then on Firefox, hold down Ctrl and use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
Not sure about the other browsers, but I am sure there are similar controls for them.
