Can you guys rate/improve my blue deck for magic: the gathering?

Been playing magic for a while now with my friends pretty casually, but I want to start doing my local competitions, and this is the deck I've come up with, tell me how i can make it better or if you think it will be okay.

To my understanding decks (dont have to be but our encouraged) to be 60 cards right?? correct me if im wrong, thats just what my friends have told me.

Planeswalkers:

x1 Jace, memory adept

Lands:

x23 Islands

Creatures:

x2 Water Servant

x2 Invisible Stalker

x3 Wall of Frost

x2 Stormtide Leviathan

x1 Sphinx of Uthuun

Spells: (I know creatures are a spell too, but i didnt know what else to call these)

x2 Ice Cage

x3 Call to Mind

x3 Redirect

x3 Cancel

x2 Unsummon

x3 Tricks of the Trade

x3 Index

x3 Sleep

x1 Eel Umbra

x1 Volition Reins

x1 Temporal Mastery

Artifacts:

x1 Tablet of the Guilds

I have that artifact in here becuase there are a lot of spells and stuff going on, so I like that 1 life every time i cast something, and the extra temporal mastery mixed with sleep (have all of there creatures unable to block twice is a nice thing)

Index is really nice if im low on mana, or need a good card, i get to look at the top 5 cards and put them back in any order, so i like that, but i can see where it's sort of stupid

Looking at my deck now, i kind of think having the invisible stalker, and tricks of the trade is a little unnecessary, so i might need to replace the invisble stalker with something a little more powerful, or replace tricks of the trade with a higher attack on it

I kind of want 4 unsummons, and 4 cancels, but it didnt all fit in, i just got Jace, and redirect today so i have to take some things out

Redirect is in there becuase of red decks... im sick of getting my **** ****** up by lava axe+fire serventx2 (fire servent causes red instant or sorcery's to do double damage, lava axe deals 5 damage 5x2x2 is 20... deal with 1 move... so i put that in there instead of just canceling it

Call to mind and ice cage dont really need an explination for why they are in there

I did have 4 water servants in here, and 4 air servants, and it just became boring... so i tried to spice it up a little bit, but i might've just ****** my deck up a little bit... you can tell me

Water servant is just a nice 3/4 that can be changed to fit various block/attack situations

I put the Sphinx of Uthuun in here, becuase i was so bored with this deck, the reveal 5 cards, spereate them into two different piles and choose one and sacrifice the others just adds the spice i was looking for to this deck.

Wall of frost, by far one of my favoirt cards in here... a 0/7 that when it blocks freezes the blocked creature for another turn, wish i had another one

Finally stormtide Leviathan, this is just a badass 8/8 that is basically unblockable...and no other ground creatures can attack me...

I know a down side to my deck right off the bat... no flying/reach creatures... but thats sort of why i have cancel/unsummon/sleep in here... i can just kill them or protect myself for an extra round from those creatures and still manage...

And obviously Jace, i love this card... I dont understand why so many people dislike him...

Thank you guys... and remeber if i said anything in here that was in correct please fix it... so i dont sound like an idiot at the competitions... Im ready to get serious, and get my magic on at our local tournaments!!

I'm not definite which layout you are going to be taking part in. I consider plenty of humans in normal are most commonly going up to three colours (one main and its 2 allies) for the reason that Shards of Alara is headquartered across the 5 shards. White, Blue, and Black (Esper) appears beautiful strong. Really, the one factor that issues with allied colours is that some cards might have talents requiring the allied color mana. Otherwise you could to find more gold playing cards of the allied colors. Rather than that, it doesn't matter. Anyone stated blue/red. That offers you a mixture of manipulate, creatures, and burn for creature removing. Purple also has artifact removing that blue lacks. The reason for running multiple colors is solely to offer your deck more solutions to make use of. You have to decide what style of deck you want to play. Blue has control (counterspells) and black utilizes disruption (discard spells) and creature kill. I really like wrecking my opponent's hand, so I play black lovely probably. What green offers is creatures, speedy mana sources by way of elves, and artifact/enchantment removing (Krosan Grip or others). Inexperienced gives you elimination black does not have access to ordinarily, however with out direct creature removal, you'll be using your own massive green creatures to plow on by way of. Simply seem at what cards you've got entry to, feel about possible decks for both U/B and U/G, after which make a decision what looks more consistent, what's extra robust, and what's going to you be more secure with enjoying good.
