Help revise my paragraph?
For a college scholarship essay, I'm supposed to write about something i am passionate about and how i plan on achieving those goals. Any tips on what i could change or what would sound better would be helpful! *Names have been starred to protect the identity.
Sgt. **** ********* and I have lived a similar lifestyle all our life. Friends as well as family considered me a hard worker, but not so much when it came to school. I’ve always been passionate about working out or engaging in any sort of physical activity, but when it came down to me setting aside time to complete schoolwork, I lived a life of procrastination. Knowing I’m walking the wrong path, I still held my goals up high. Since middle school it had been my choice and dream to persue a career in Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement and I was positive that it fit my personality better than anything else. I told myself, “This is me; this is what I’m meant to do.” Using my superior physical abilities to help others is what I am greatest at. The way I look at it is, “Why waste a talent for something you don’t enjoy doing?” After high school, I’ll work my hardest to stop for nothing when it comes to reaching that lifelong goal. It may not offer a six digit salary, but like the old saying goes, “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.” Just like ******, we may not always meet top qualifications, but we sure as hell will work harder than anyone else to surpass those who once doubted us.

You are the person who needs to rewrite your paragraph, not some stranger over the internet.
I suggest, you set it down for 6 hours. Then read it aloud. Say to yourself, it's subjective. What does that mean? It means you are putting too much of you, too much of how you feel or what you like into it. Being subjective is ok, if that's what you want. If it's not your plan to begin with, then it's not something you want to creep in, unplanned.
It's ok to aspire to being a cop, but it's not what you think it is. Those people get into many situations that should make any normal person cry. They see things that most people can't imagine. For instance, I recently heard a cop comment that he'd only ever removed one corpse from a car wearing a seat belt. It was a gory description, and that's just traffic.
