Why go ahead with CO2 sequestration now we know the truth?

Now we can see that lack of connection between CO2 and global warming, why is the government in the UK going ahead with CO2 sequestration plans. This was anounced in the budget speech and not one MP complained about it. They seemed to be completely brain washed against CO2.

Since when did you expect the UK government to get anything right.

As far as energy goes, mistakes so far, close down the coal mines, privatize the GEGB the worlds most efficient admired power grid in the world. build oil fired power stations. use up all the wonderful (for heating and cooking) natural gas in decades by building combined cycle gas turbine generators.

Promote, costly ugly bird/bat chopping wind power.

They probably don't read the daily mail, and if they did, it seems unlikely they would consider anything in there as being "the truth". They would probably prefer the opinions of the major scientists in the country who are all still convinced that warming is happening.

From what I hear though sequestration is a bad idea, more expensive than other alternatives.

The Sun has been cooling while Earh has been warming for more than 40 years. If we hadn't been adding carbon dioxide to the atmosphere, Earth would be cooling.

CO2 is a greenhouse gas. Adding more of a greenhouse gas to the atmosphere will increase the greenhouse effect. Increasing the greenhouse effect will warm the planet. I'm glad *somebody* is taking action, and I wish my country was, as well.
