Would it be weird to just message this kid my number?
So this new guy at my school doesn't share any classes with me. We've talked, but not that much. I only see him in the hallways about once a week, sometimes never, because he has only a couple of classes. Well we're friends on facebook and I really want his number so I can talk to him more but I think it's weird to just message someone and be like "hey here's my number, you should text me sometime" rather then in person. Anyways I also want to ask him to prom but I have no way to communicate with him because he's never anywhere to be found. And it's not like I can ask a friend for his number because nobody really knows who he is.
So long story short, is this creepy to ask someone.

No I think that's fine special him being New at school. He wants to make friends I would say hey here my number if you want to hang out sometime.

it might be easier if you both were in person ask him if he would like to go grab something to eat after school sometime then when both of you two get more comfortable with each other ask him if he would like to call you sometime.
off topic i had a girl that was hanging out with me and my friends when i was 16 she grabbed my phone and said hey you dont have my number and put it in herself i was fine with it so all in all dont worry so much about it

if you're nervous to ask him in person, or never see him around and want to do it on fb or something that's fine. but you know don't just message him & be like here's my number you should be like hey whats up and start a conversation.
