How do religious people feel now we have evidence of how old the universe is?

It won't make any difference to them. They will just say things like "that evidence is not real" or "god's days are a thousand years long" and other such nonsense. We have known for many many years that the biblical accounts of creation are total rubbish.

"Religious people" don't claim that the world was made 6000 years ago, nor do "religious people" have a problem with evolution.

It is only a very tiny fringe of characters - mostly in the central USA - who persist in this Creationist theory and the literal interpretation of their version of the Bible (or whatever is their book). The overwhelming majority of people of all faiths take a very dim view of these nutters.

Please don't tar everybody who believes in God with this "fundamentalist" brush. If you do then you are as being just as bad as the "nutters" who still want to burn witches and torture children for "being possessed", or who believe that committing mass murder is the way to paradise.

I would say that they do not know their Hebrew very well, and that they do not know that a evening and morning is one day. The word day in Hebrew means juno which means one.

As for as the earth as a whole it has always been but it was without form and it was void.

I believe in science and I am thankful that the Lord has used it for many good things, but the Lord was here before science, and the Hebrew people were here before the full study of science, and their time is from the beginning of creation, and they do not go by the standard calendar, but by theirs which traced back to the beginning of time, and I do believe if anyone would know they would, for they have no reason to lie, and they have been here longer than any of the modern day scientist who most do not even believe in the living God. Since God word is older than all other books, and no one can seem to get rid of it, though many have tried, there is much to say about His word being faithful and true.

Large creature could have been here during the beginning of time for they have found drawings in caves of them but they are not no millions years old. Many pictures today with modern day equipment can produce anything man may dream up. They could take my picture and make me half man and half woman if they chose to do so. Scientist come and go, and they say one thing today, and another thing tomorrow. We are told not to eat this or that for it is bad for us, and then they come back and say oh that is not bad for you but it is good for you and you need it to help the fat metabolize, but the Word of the living God abides forever, and it shall never pass away, and it has never changed nor will it ever change though mankind does.

As far as God being "my" God He is yours also even though you do not know Him as of yet, and if you never come to know Him, you will bow before Him one day. God is not against you. He is for you and He sent His Son for all of mankind even those who jeer at His name and and mock Him. He is full of grace for now, but one day His grace will come to and end.

I still claim that it is my God who is on the throne, and it is in Him that I put my faith and trust even if the world is only 1,000 years, or 100 trillion years. The thing people need to be concerned with is where am I going to spend eternity when this age comes to and end and my life here is done. This is the only thing that really matters. My soul is more important than who is right and who is wrong about something, and others need to know they have a soul, and a spirit that goes along with their body, and the body will die one day but the spirit never dies and it will go to one place or other. Heaven or hell. The choice is theirs to make and it is your choice also. Think about that, and where do you stand before the living God, for He is real rather you believe it or not. If I am wrong I have nothing to loose, but if you are wrong what will you have to loose?

Remember it was my God who gave science to the people. It was my God who told the people that the world was round, and you will find that in Job 22:14; Proverbs 8:27; Isaiah 40:14. Now if God was against science then He would not have even brought it up, and told it to the people. And if people had read the Bible then they could have saved themselves much time and much money.

There are YEC's (young Earth creationists) who believe what you say and thus who you are speaking to, but then there are also other Christians who don't believe in the Bible at all and just make whatever they want of it that DO NOT believe this, right????
