What do I need to do for an audition for a dance competition team!?!? And how can I look confident!?!?
This spring, my dance teacher is starting a competition team. I'm an assistant dance teacher and I'm in my 11th year of dance (I'm 14). I take lessons in ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, musical theater, tap, and hip hop. I can tell my teacher really wants me to try out and I wanna be on the team sooooo bad.
Does anyone know what you usually have to do to try out for a dance comp. team? Also, do you have any advise for how to look confident even if you're really scared?
{Just to Clarify: I know it says my name's Craig. It's not. That's my dad. I'm a 14 year old girl.}

Be prepared for anything they ask you to demonstrate in any genre of dance. They could ask you to do 5 a la secondes and then ask you to do a aerial and a front walkover. You just have to be prepared for everything and anything.
A versatile dancer is always the best dancer, so they will probably test you in everything. You are being looked at from the second you walk into the room, so give everything your best, even when stretching. Make sure you bring all your shoes (tap shoes, pointe, lyrical, hip hop...). Bring practically everything you have in your dance bag. (water, $$, extra clothes, elastics, etc)
Good Luck!

You've been taking dance forever (like me). You have enough skill to be confident in your body. As to the dance comp. team. Make sure all your skills are amazing from you jazz, to tap, to hip hop, to pointe. Make sure they're all on their A game because a versatile dancer is always the best dancer. Also bring all your shoes on the day of try out, bring water, hair bands, etc. You know, anything you would put in your dance bag. You should be fine

They may most commonly have anyone new educating a events. Take heed to the instructor, ask questions within the occasion you ought to, and reap knowledge of. Get with one of the crucial others and follow. I've taken dancing for 20+ years, and had been a "prefer" for the boost crew auditions. If you are making a mistake, don't effectively stand there, hold moving to the next move. One thing judges look for is how rapidly that you may opt for up a brand new movements. They comprehend you migiht make only some mistakes, however ought to see for those who tried your great. First-class just right fortune!
