How to setup a Webcam over a network?

I've got this webcam(USB) plugged into this laptop (windows vista serves pack 1) and I would like to see it on other PCs on the same wireless and wired network. I've tried lots of other programs but they have problems booting up and require to work over the internet. I don't want it to have any connection to the internet as it will run up my intent bill and i don't like the sound of other people seeing my house and my family even with a password.

I think I get what your trying to say.

    Try these software:

    Webcam Monitor (http://www.deskshare.com/wcm.aspx)

iSpy (http://www.ispyconnect.com/) The free version of iSpy works only on the same network as the camera - as you want.

You will need to make an account. Make sure you read about it first

I dont think you can see a webcam plugged into one machine on aother one as it has no wireless capability. Your bill wont run up if a webcam is connected. People can't see inside your house if you use a webcam except if you are using programs like skype when they will see what you choose to show them. If you fear your webcam is tramsmitting photos to the internet--this wont happen unless there is a program-possibly a spyware to do so. In any case keep your PC camera swiitched off except when you are using it--which will put an end to the problem. No one can see you accidentally when you are not on a video chat unless there is some spyware to tramsmit shots etc
