What is the best match saving knock you've seen in Test Cricket?

Sometimes a great match saving knock in test cricket is equal or even better than a match winning innings.Prior's hundred is right up there,What a wonderful batting it was from him and what a great thriller of a test match.

NZ Deserved to win, they fought so well till the end but Eng deserved the draw with the way their batsman played the last day led by Prior especially.Having seen so many one sided series wins these days in test cricket,it was refreshing to see Test Cricket played at its best by both the teams ,so Congratulations to both Eng and NZ.

BQ)How do you sum up this see-saw 3 match test series between Eng and NZ?.What are the positives both teams can take out of this Test series?.

Sunil Gavaskar's innings of 221, most of it composed on the last day in the fourth innings of the fifth Test Match at The Oval in 1980. Not only did it save the game for India, they very nearly pulled off an incredible win. I think that England set India 429 to win and they finished on 421-8 or something like that.

    Edit:

BQ. - Moral victory for the Kiwis. The only plus for England is that yet again it shows that they are hard to beat. This is the fourth time in the last four years that they have had to bat long to save a game: once against Australia in the 2009 Ashes, twice against South Africa in South Africa in the 2009/10 series and now here in New Zealand in 2013.

Jason Gillespie always seemed to be a handful to get out when trying to save tests and remember him scoring a double hundred as night watchman against Bangladesh.

I'm a proud kiwi and was desperate to see nz win but it wasn't to be.

I think nz need another Shane bond, someone with lots of pace to complete the bowling attack.

Hopefully Adam Milne can develop more consistency as he's easily nz's fastest atm.

I don't know about match saving knock, but in the same test, you had Stuart Broad batting 10.2 overs without opening his account to salvage a draw.
