I'm so confused about what he's doing?

So my boyfriend recently broke up with me about a month ago and I made a big deal about it and was really sad and bothered him for about a week until I realized I should give him space. So last weekend I messaged him to ask if we could talk about it like adults and he ignored my texts. We go to different schools and we're both grounded at the moment so we can't meet up. But he just messaged me. What does this mean? I thought he was done with me? So confusing..
