religion a mandatory development for a civilization?
When looking back to human history and simply logical conclusion, it becomes evident to me that when people start asking questions about their origins, they come to the conclusion of a creator. i can not blame them for coming to this conclusion due to their very early culture. Can you think of any way a human society would not come to this conclusion as it ascended through time?

To my knowledge, every major society that we currently have knowledge on has some sort of religious or philosophical explanation for things. If by "conclusion", you mean the idea that there is an individual being who is a creator, then I would offer you the explanation that not all religions or philosophies require a god to explain creation (Taoism) and some believe it is best to avoid the topic entirely and accept reality for what it is (Buddhism). It is also important to note that religion likely developed out of the evolution of settled societies, as it would be more difficult for nomadic groups to find the time to develop religous philosophies. As a response to your overall question,"Is religion a mandatory development for a civilization?" I would state no, rather the reverse is true, that civilization is, if not mandatory for, a great facilitator of religion.
