Why so much hate for Windows 8?
Admittedly I wasn't happy when my new gaming laptop was only available from the factory with Windows 8. But, having used it now for the last three months, I find no faults with it. It's as stable as my Win 7 install. I can still dual boot with Linux, should I want to. I was able to make a recovery USB drive. (A little more cumbersome than simply burning some DVDs.) And yes, the start screen drove me bat crap crazy for a few days. But all-in-all, it's rock solid.
So I wonder, why so much hate? I want to know why you love it or hate it.
So the un-intuitive aspect of the OS is a drawback, but it doesn't break the system. Is this a common concern?
Despite it's primary target being the touch interface, MS managed to integrate/adapt it to desktop quite well. Not to mention the synergy between Windows 8 devices is quite good.
To say that mouse interaction is failed is quite flawed. It once accustomed, it actually improved productivity. Multitasking in Win 8 has received an almost Apple like makeover, as well, preferring to keep all modern-style apps open, but not running, to save time on switching or launching (by not removing from RAM) The charms bar is unique, and quite nice as well, allowing access to search, devices, and system settings in one location, rather than having to launch My Computer and click through settings.

Because it takes two extra steps to accomplish anything you want to do when on previous versions of Windows you could do with one click.

I didn't even like Widows 7 - I've used Win286/386/3.x/95/98/NT3.x/2000/XP. Yes, I've used every version of windows that has ever been made. Windows 7 is not as easy to use. Windows 8 is even worse. Change for the sake of change is not good, and that is what Microsoft did to Windows.
I don't hate Windows 8, but I don't like it and I won't use it. I switched to Linux a while ago, and it works great for me. If Microsoft had stayed with the WinXP style, I'd still be using it. They lost me when Vista came out.

They basically took everything basic in Windows 7 and added an extra step to it.... and yea, its designed for touch screen platform... mouse just simply doesn't work with it.... I'm gonna be using Windows 7 for a long time....

It's terrible to use, I don't see how a touchscreen would be an improvement. Instead of opening all programs in one click finding the calculator, I had to watch the tutorial on youtube. Thanks for making the simplest of things so complex I will use your operating system even less.

many people hate it because it is complicated and not simple like win 7,i think microsoft will bring its future windows 9 much simplified and good looking than win 8
