What are some underrated, unique, odd vocals metal bands?

First of all, I don't know precisely how to phrase my question so don't attack me for my choice of wording. I'm looking for suggestions for Metal bands that are sort of underrated. I really want something melodic with, what I would describe as abnormal vocals and some sick guitar riffs. For example, if you are an Avenged Sevenfold fan, you may know The Rev's side project, Pinkly Smooth. His vocals on the album are really unique and I love the melodies, especially the guitar riffs and the solo of Mezner (killed me how it's so sick but short). I'm looking for unique bands that are not mainstream. Even solo albums like Brendon small's Galaktikon. Ive been a fan of dethklok and avenged sevenfold for a year now. Heard all their songs, yet somehow I'm JUST now discovering these side projects (galaktion in january 2013 and pinkly smooth last sunday .__.) Suggestions, please. And thanks in advance

    Protest the Hero's HIGH singing. Very classical singing, and the earlier albums have punk screams. Rody Walker is easily one of the best singers of the modern generation. Like the Freddie Mercury of today.

    Spencer Sotello of Periphery. Similar to Rody, but more of a grit.

    Devin Townsend. The dude sings operatically and it kicks ***. Has an EXTREME vocal range. Look up Almost Again by Strapping Young Lad and Kingdom (Epicloud version) by Devin Townsend Project.

    Jikuu Kaizoku Seven Seas is an underground melodic power metal band from Japan. Their vocalist had a unique style (they split up, but released some killer EPs).
