Why is Good Friday called Good Friday?

Jesus said Matthew 12:40

For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Going by this and the fact that Jesus was Crucified on Friday before the Sabbath was due, Jesus resurrected on a Wednesday, so it should be Good Wednesday!

Good Friday is only good for Muslims.....because all the liquor stores will be closed.

Well, that is because Jesus created a bridge between God & man by dying on that cross that day. & the relationship between God & man could now be reconcilled.. :) By dying on the cross that day, he payed the penalty of all our sins, so whoever believes in this truth now, has a second chance..Eternal life and Salvation from sins..gets washed from all his sins, & starts walking with God. That is why, its a "Good" Friday.

P.S.: Jesus knew He was going to be Resurrected on the 3rd day :)

Well, if it was called BAD Friday not many people would have the day off now, isn't it?
