I'm worried about my mental health?
I can tell my mum anything and everything, but when I talk to her about how i'm feeling at the moment all she keeps saying is to try not to worry about things and to stop over analysing everything. A year ago I had a nervous breakdown and ended up on anti-depressants (which I no longer take, and haven't for a few months) and cognitive behavioural therapy sessions which seemed to help me get my life back on track, I started feeling more positive about everything, but now I feel like I am going backwards, all I want to do is cry and shut my self in my bedroom away from everyone. What can I do as I don't want to go back on anti-depressants - I never wanted to go on them in the first place, but my doctor still gave them to me and my mum would stand over me to check I had taken them. What should I do now?

I'd like to put the question of drugs aside and talk about other things. You say that CBT helped you. CBT is learning skills that you can use for the rest of your life. If the skills helped you then, they can help you now.
An approach to CBT originated in your country. It's called Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. If you go to MBCT.com, you can find out about it. Studies have shown that it prevents relapse after recovery from depression. They also have a book.
If you go to the University of Kansas TLC website you can read about their healthy lifestyle program, Their book is Depression Cure by Dr Steve Ilardi

Anti depressants are a poorly named medication because of the stigma attached to them. They should be called seratonin replacement medication because that's exactly what its. A lack of seratonin in the brain causes all sorts of issues such as nervous breakdowns, depression, anxiety,OCD to name a few. How do I know? I've had all the above and live successfully with the last 3 daily. The reason for this is due to counselling and continued use of anti depressants. I've been back for a bit of help when my OCD gets difficult again but I don't stop the meds because they help. If a diabetic has to take medication for the rest of their lives to keep them well then I'll take mine for the same reasons. My advice is see your doctor for more counselling as you say it helped and sort out about going back on the meds as this will maintain the levels of seratonin and improve how you feel. Good luck

Why don't you go back to your cognitive behaviour therapy sessions and see if they help you before you start on your anti-depressants.?
