WTF army?/ Help from anyone who has been in this situation?

So, I S*&^ you not I got a 300 on my PT test today, and when we went to get weighed and taped I was over on my weight, I'm not bragging but I'm in REALLY good shape right now, on a REAL BMI test I have like 4% body fat but my neck is small so I busted tape. Now they have me on the overweight program and I have a 1st SG telling me I'm an out of shape soldier deying my weekend pass and sending me to a medic to make sure I don't have a "medical condition"

What sense if any does this make and has this happened to any of you? Is there anything I can do? I've been PTing to go to SF selection but it looks like that'll have to wait.

well, i'm sorry to hear that but a weekend pass is a priviledge therefore your ISG could approve it or deny it . The army is try to downsize therefore they have to make sure evryone is in shape..Its a protocol for them to send you to medic to check if you have a medical condition. Its for your own good. They will put you on a weight control program for 6 months..if you dont lose weight by then, a docor will have to do a further examination to see if its a medical condition causing you to be overwight..If it is, then you'll be med boarded and if not you'll will be chaptered out either way but with a honorable discharge and you'll still be able to keep your benefits as a veteran..either way make sure you utilize JAG to know your rights..hope that i helped

Dude, I was told to loose more weight when I went to PLDC/WLC. Also just falling out of a run, I was put on rememdial PT and did it twice a day.

If your a bodybuilder who is over weight because of muscles, you do realize this makes it hard to run and it looks funny to have your upper body all muscular and your legs skinny?

You may have to rethink your bodybuilding program so you pass your tape. You can also do what some women do when they are getting taped, go to the sauna to loose your water weight and maybe fast two meals the day before a tape.

They should go by a body fat composition test in that case because muscle weighs more than fat and if you were truly a fatbody you wouldn't have scored so well on your pft. I would argue my case above 1st Sgt because for some stuff you have to make your stand when you know you're in the right.

    its your own fault !!!!!!!!!

you should have known you were over the weight limit

so its your fault for not forseeing the problem and being proactive to prevent any issues

IE: if you knew you were over the weight limit because of muscle mass, you should have already went and seen the doctors to get a weight wavier on file, because of the muscle mass

    2. so im gonna say, you have a gut, i see no other reason they would take the actions they have

IE: if you had a six pac, i really couldn't see them putting you on a weight control program

    3. no one cares what your PFT is, the height weight regs have nothing to do with your PFT score

    4. so either lose the gut and make weight or go see a doctor and get a weight waiver on file
