What audio editing software should I download if I want to edit classical/chamber music?

I don't need an incredibly expensive one, I just want one to create new melodies or make new versions of classical songs I like.

    Hello,

I would HIGHLY suggest going with pro tools se. Pro Tools SE is about 50 US Dollars on Amazon/Ebay... It has great sound quality as long as aound 16 orcherstal string instruments and many others. If you are into actually writing out music you can do that as well in pro tools.

Now, not try to single out pro tools but another GREAT software is Finale Notepad.
