WHo was the better finisher Bevan or Hussey ?

Hussey by far was a greater cricketer in most respects and in my opinion, Bevan was after all exposed to much less varieties of formats, situations and opponents.

I just can't understand why a cricketer of the calibre of Mike Hussey couldn't get the 'baggy green' till he was 29.... had he been inducted earlier, I am quite sure he would have retired with many more records to his credit.

Right now, we are eagerly awaiting his exploits with Chennai Super Kings in the ensuing IPL6!!

Back in 2006, mark Taylor went ahead and said that hussey is the new bevan.

We can't possibly compare the two in tests and t20 because bevan played little of tests and not a single t20...

As far as ODIs are concerned you couldn't possibly compare someone from a decade back with someone playing a much more modernized version of all formats of the game. At least not with with statistics... Hussey, we can say, plays a much mre liberalized version of the game thanks to power plays and what not.. But if there's one thing hussey is undoubtedly better than bevan at, it's fielding...be it n the slip cordon, at gully or in the outfield.

Both are legends.

We shall miss them both.

Hussey is a much better allround batsman.As a finisher I would put both of them on par.Hussey is more aggressive than Bevan but Bevan can accelerate at the right moment.Whether its Bevan's last ball 4 against WI in SCG or Hussey Heroics exploit in last over against Pak in T20 WC semis,you can see how good they both were in finishing off the games.

Bevan was a much better finisher and Hussey was a better player
