Why is everyone going scene/emo lately? (Non-stereotypical)?
Everyone, literally everyone is going scene. I don't mean to be stereotypical, but c'mon now. A lot of people in my school went from the preppy kids to these fake scenes. They changed their music taste from rap/hip-hop to heavy metal or post-hardcore in like a month. I've always been into heavy metal and hardcore music, so it kind of bothers me when people are pretending to enjoy this music. If you don't like it, why listen to it? They don't even know any of the songs. Everyone's dying their hair black and getting the side-swept bangs that go all the way across your forehead. I'm just so done with this generation and everyone trying to "fit in". Be yourself, my god.

I agree with you. It annoys me to see all these trendy dorks who were pretty went to scene and now are going to the hipster style. They're lame and doing it just to fit in instead of being themselves. Do I have dyed black hair? Yes. Do I have side swept bangs and longish hair? Yes. Do I wear girl pants? Yes. But I've been doing it for years and have stuck with the style. Not just to fit in.

How do you even know they are pretending? Maybe they really like it. And what if they are pretending? It's not the end of the world.
People change. At least they are expanding their taste in music while you're complaining.
Appearance-wise, people can do whatever they want. It's not really related to the music you listen to.

It's not a new thing It's been going on for about a decade now. Just trendy high school kids. Ignore it.

first you kids complain that you're alone and no one else likes the things you do, NOW you complain when they DO like the things you like, I wish you kids would just shut up, and go outside and play for fux sake.

you pretty much answered your own question, they are dying to fit in. it's probably just another stupid phase. as far as i can tell, originality is dead. but you're right be yourself :)
