Lost Operating System...?

I had Windows 8 pro 64 bit installed on my PC. When I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on different partition, I no longer have Windows 8 in my boot menu to choose among OSs? I have Windows 8 installed on the partition but still it is not even displayed in MSConfig and not even in Repair Disk. Is there any way to solve this? Please I had a lot of apps installed and don't wanna lose them...

It seems that your windows 7 has overridden your windows 8 but there is still a possibility for it to be recovered. If u have the windows 8 disk, reinstall it and if u don't have a disk, copy windows 8 OS to a pendrive and boot directly from the pendrive. You can also try switching users or uninstalling windows 7 hoping that Windows 8 reappears in the boot menu. If none of these work, contact your local IT technician (computerwala ) to aid you.

Most likely Windows 7 overwrote the Windows 8 boot loader. Always install the oldest OS first. If you install an old one last, it is unable to recognize the newer OS.

The manual could be looked at for you but you gave no system info.

Without knowing the make & model it's tough to give you iron clad inffo without risking further loss of your files.

Look in your manual for a reference to a recovery option.

Most computers come with a recovery partition that is hidden from the user in-case of problems like this.

If you have one, then one of the options for recovery may give you the option to repair the "Original" operating system while saving your files to a folder in the C: folder that will be named "Old files" ( or something like that)

You really should list make & model when asking PC help..
