Reaction of Primary alcohol?!?

Can primary alcohol react with HCl or HBr?

    Yes they can react. CH3CH2CH2OH is a primary alcohol if HCl or HBr is added in it the H positive (proton) will attack on the lone pair of electrons on OH and if it heated a water molecule will be eliminated and alkene will be the product.

    Another reaction by this alcohol with halogen acid is in the presence of ZnCl2 that will cause substitution of halogen at the place of OH and OH will leave containing negative charge.
