Some of my favorites are older shows, but that just means you have either all or most of the show on Netflix or Hulu. I'd suggest Buffy, the Vampire Slayer and it's spin-off Angel. Charmed is also good. Then there's Grey's Anatomy and it's spin-off Private Practice. Gilmore Girls is also excellent, though I don't think that's on Netflix. Of new-ish shows, there's Once Upon a Time and Scandal, both of which are excellent.

Breaking Bad, the Walking Dead, Community, Psych, and Once Upon A Time are some of my favorites.

Okay you definitely need to watch Breaking Bad. It will blow your mind. Prison Break is really good too.
