Hard drive cache-16MB vs 64MB?
7200 rpm for both. I'm trying to get the fastest read/write time assuming I don't have a SSD. I actually do have a SSD but I'm going to build another desktop. All other hardware details I am familar with but don't know much about cache, I assume more is better.

things to look into
disk speed this determines how fast it can transfer data 7200rpm is currently a mix
cache 64mb is onbviously better it can transfer data and access files faster
there a lil more noticable on start up as well
if your motherboard supports sata 6gb then get a hd with same speed for ultimate transfer rate
note also keep your hardrives in sizes 750gb to 1tb never get 2tb they seem to die way faster then a 1tb drive most likely as the disk writer has to read all that once you have it full lol

Hi, The cache performance may vary in between 16MB to 64MB. But i guess you can carry on with most of your computing applications with ease.

it's the ability to transfer data at a certain exchange. if you want read/write capability then you're looking at the RPM of a HDD, i suggest beefing up to a 10k-RPM that's runs equal to an SSD, otherwise I'd take the 64mb cache.
