Can a girl text a guy first?

I met this guy on the weekend. I met him through a mutual friend. We were drinking together and stuff in a group before going out to the bar and I just thought he was really sweet.. he wasn't really hot or anything but something about him kinda drew me in. We got to the bar, played pool, I lost all my other friends because it was so busy so I ended up just hanging out with him all night. We danced, made out, talked, he bought me food, and actually had a really good night. He smoothly got his number into my phone when he asked me about something I'd done before and he wanted me to tell him how to do it sometime. While we were talking about it, he once again smoothly got me to put my number into his phone this time. When I accidentally only put my name and not my number (I was a little tipsy, but nothing extreme!) he made sure he got my actual number. We ended up going back to his place, cuddling on the couch and talking more. We fooled around a little but didn't have sex. I had to leave because I was supposed to be staying at a friend's house. He kissed me bye and that was that. The next day our mutual friend asked him about it and what not, he wouldn't say much, told her she would have to ask me. I've since then added him on facebook (yesterday, two days after our night out) and he has yet to accept my friend request, or text me. It's been three days since everything, and I kinda half expected him to have texted me today. Is it okay to text him first? Should I wait now since I've made a move by adding him on facebook? I don't want to seem desperate or something, but I actually thought he was really sweet, a nice change from the guys I'm used to. It just gets so confusing when guys actually make an effort to get your number but then never text you. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
