woodgrain veneer for cabinet?

Real wood veneer is commonly available. I don't want that. I want the real thin stuff they use on speaker cabinets, that is glued to mdf, and looks like wood. It is really paper thin film, and is probably plastic. It is not laminate. May only be available already glued to mdf sheets. and sold only to factories. Any info is welcome. Thanks in advance.

You are referring to vinyl clad MDF. Such processes are done on very expensive equipment in large scale manufacturing facilities.

The MDF is cut using CNC machinery then the PVC is thermo-laminated to the material.

I think you may be talking about Fablon, or it may be called Contact. I think they sell it in the Range, (UK)

It is like a sticky back plastic. You cannot use it on work surfaces as it would spoil wiht heat. and it comes with different patterns. Other than wood. You have to be careful when applying as any imperfections show, and you need to apply smoothly, as difficult to correct. But I think this is the product you mean.
