here is a website that has a lot of information from expedition owners and from the ford explorer these were not very good cars and I would not recommend buying either one for many reasons. They both have a lot of complaints and many problems. Here is a couple of web sites that have lots of information carcomplaints.com has a number of complaints over many years click on the blue link

http://www.carcomplaints.com/ and here is another website with a lot of information www.arfc.org/

http://www.arfc.org/complaints/2004/ford/expeditio... there were a few hundred complaints here as well

Most bumpers are black in colour, so it your paint is scratched it should be black plastic displaying by means of. If the scratch is white, and no longer cracked, that is just paint (from someone elses bumper) on top of your paint. Take somewhat bit of laquer thinner (5.00 @ walmart) on a rag and GENTLY rub the paint off. It will have to come proper up, if it does not discontinue! An excessive amount of rubbing and the thinner will consume into your paint inflicting a reshoot. If you need touch up paint, you've gotten a 2-tone paint job. You can want the 17 Digit VIN number (on D-side door jamb or underneath windshield). Take it to the dealer, they will look up your bumper color (one of a kind than body color) and sell you a bottle of touch up for roughly 10 dollars. Make certain you shake the bottle first and it simply brushes correct on, recollect much less is extra with contact up paint... Brush it on, don't blob it on! But try the laquer thinner first, you'd be amazed how effortless it comes up.
