Career for hearing impaired?
After almost 20 years in Law Enforcement, I have been forced to leave due to losing my hearing. It is to the point now where I must lip read and I cannot talk on the phone. I'm OK if talking face to face. AT 51 I really don't (or can't) want to return to college for another degree. Any suggestions of what field I might be able to get into that would fit my qualifications? I am good with face to face (I was a case manager for a federal half way house) and computer skills. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did you already leave? Did your hearing loss result from your work? If yes, you should file Workman's Comp ~ aside from looking for other work. You have a short time to claim (180 days I believe), so get on it quickly if this if the case.
Is there anywhere in Law Enforcement where you are (or were) that you can transfer and train? Maybe accounting, data entry work, filing, case work. See if your employer (or ex employer) will help you.
Google for hearing loss help ~ and get what you need to hear better or some.
Here's one I found > http://www.hearingloss.org/content/financial-assis...
good luck.
