Nazi Germany's military vs Modern day U.S. military?
This might be a little weird but who would win? Hitler's Nazi's or modern day U.S. military. Just one on one. No allies. Who would win and why do you think that?
I know we beat them in WW2 but we didn't do it alone. We had allies. In this battle, there is no allies. I don't think the U.S. in WW2 could defeat Nazi Germany alone.
I know its an easy question, but Germany was very powerful back then and it took a big team effort to take them down. No one could have defeated them on their own. How easy would it be for today's military to take them down with no allies at all?

As good as nazi germany military was
( I'm not a nazi fan or nothing, but it was good. it took you yanks and us (I'm brittish,)a lot to stop them. at the time they were more advanced than us, their guns were better, their tanks were better, they terrorised us on/in the Atlantic Ocean with their uboats, so i can see why you ask this question, )
however it's a military force of nearly seventy years ago and could not win against an army with today's modern weaponry and training.
But I don't think it would be as easy as what some answers are suggesting, just remember it took the soviet replubic, USA, uk, china, France, Poland, Canada and plenty of others that people might not realise, such as brazil, Greece eg. Well over 8 years (even though USA only fought in ww2 for 4 years they still helped out with supplies before that) to beat pretty much just nazi germany and Japan ( then Italy joined in for a bit but left early) and it was mostly USA who fought the Japanese in places like the solomon isladns, in europe it was basicly all of us verses nazi germany. 8 years to stop them... Certainly a force to be reckoned with....
@fill lvey, you'd just obliterate them with your jet fighters? I think your missing the point a little. It wouldn't be that easy, you have no allies remember! where do you think most of you planes take off from, or stop off at? you don't have air bases over here because we have the free space and we like you. That's why the nazis bombed the absolute **** out of my country back then ( oh yeah @nikola, thanks for giving the uk a shout out for its part in ww2, I know we didn't do much ) it wasn't to prevent our planes from being able to take off, it was yours too. Now I know your going to say aircraft carrier, but nazi germany ain't gonna just roll with that are they? Remember the uboats? ok no match for todays but they are still going to cause problems. I think it would be harder for you to bet nazi germany now than the Taliban, (germany where certainly better equipped, lol ) witch to be honest isn't proving as easy as every one thought.

One thing to consider is the United States and her allies (which were few) were victorious against Nazi Germany while fighting on TWO fronts. Germany would've been far easier to defeat if we didn't have to focus half of our naval assets and an entire branch of the military (Marine Corps) to fight and prevail in the Pacific theater.

If US nuclear weapons are considered, the German army will be destroyed in few hours or days at most.
Without the nukes and if the US is not allowed to use air space and land of other countries, it will not be able to successfully invade German. Germany U boats will be able to sink the 11 aircraft carriers by swarming tactic, anti submarine warfare had never been an exact science. Without the Air Craft carriers US will be dependent on long range bombers and ICBMS to inflict damage. Meanwhile, Germans will quickly develop anti satellite weapons by upgrading their V2 rockets to destroy US satellites and degrade the long range attack option of the US.
Germans will be forced to relocate their industrial base into underground tunnels and bunkers. That way they will hold the invasion for a decades or so by numerical advantage. Even though the US has much larger industrial base, it has to transport every ton of explosive 8000 KM, which limits the rate of fire power than can be delivered to German. Germans will be able to replace their loss without problem. As this goes for decades the Germans will study the technology of the missiles and long range bombers that inevitably falls into their hands. This is not an Inca vs Spanish situation. The current US technology has most of its root on the science and technology known at the time of Nazi Germany. Germans will learn new rocket designs. They will leap frog from vacuum tubes to transistors in couple of years. Then Germans will start shooting down the long range bombers and missile much more easily.
Then the Germans will regain air superiority and their industry expands without problem. Then it will be a stalemate.

Even though the answer is very obvious, the U.S. army back then, along with the Soviet Union has defeated Nazi Germany, but with todays technology and high tech weaponry get stronger everytime, the answer is obviously going to be today's U.S. military. Hope this helped!

USA.
I mean we're talking about the difference between the birth of radar and today's satellite imagery.
Me-262 Swallow was the first jet with an engine that had a lifespan of 24 hours.
The Henschel Hs 293 [German anti-ship guided missile] was remarkable for it's day but then again the Brits found out if they plugged in their electric razors and turned them on it jammed the missiles signal.
The Germans developed a 'stealth bomber' - but it was made of wood.
The V-2, again impressive but against a cruise missile?
Fact is as a General Hitler was a doofus - Churchill gave up any attempt to assassinate Hitler, his fear being they would merely replace him with someone competent.
I think the modern day US military could take them.

Obviously America's modern military would obliterate the Nazis. America's warfighter jets would destroy the Luftwaffe without losing a single jet.
@Tyler - I highly doubt America would beat Germany in WW2 if no allies were involved. Germany has home field advantage and they simply had better technology than Americans at the time.

Out-of-time scenario's never work. A modern military has capabilities someone from 70 years can not even comprehend.
Think Spanish vs. Inca's
English/French vs. Native Americans
British vs. Zulu's

We could assassinate Hitler during one of his parades or on the balcony of his mansion with a drone strike without even setting foot in Germany. A modern day special forces team could clear a concentration camp in a matter of hours.

The modern US Military would destroy Hitler's army. We could have done it in WW2 if Hitler and the US didn't have allies.
