New Career for Hearing Impaired?

After almost 20 years in Law Enforcement, I have been forced to leave due to losing my hearing. It is to the point now where I must lip read and I cannot talk on the phone. I'm OK if talking face to face. AT 51 I really don't (or can't) want to return to college for another degree. Any suggestions of what field I might be able to get into that would fit my qualifications? I am good with face to face (I was a case manager for a federal half way house) and computer skills. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Teacher

Many hearing- and vision-impaired people are teachers. They teach all subjects from math to English to physical fitness. They can teach preschool children as well as college students. But perhaps the most suitable careers for teachers who are impaired are working with people who have special needs. For example, a hearing-impaired person who teaches hearing-impaired children can share his experiences with certain problems and how to overcome them.

    Clerical

    Office worker

Clerical positions such as secretaries, receptionists, legal assistants, medical-billing assistants and phone operators are just a few career choices for the hearing or visually impaired. The work may include data entry, answering phones and directing calls, typing, working with fax machines and copiers and ordering office supplies. There are a variety of adaptive products that allow disabled people to perform these tasks more easily, including Braille computers and phones, signaling devices and specialized keyboards.
