Question about a freewheel hub...?

I have a 26" mtb rim with a bad freewheel hub. Its hub bolts on the caasette side of the rim. Will any 8.speed cassette freewheel hub work? Its an xt brand rim

    I like the old school hubs like Red line and Suzie with the conventional freewheels, they were pretty much bullet proff. But as far as cassette hubs the advantage is you can rebuild them and gear changes are quicker, you may only need a driver so check that first. Most are interchangeable, If you have one laying around match it up to your old one. If you are ordering one, order per the hub manufacture. But in reality you probably only need the driver.
