How to configure Kismet?

I've got intel(r) pro/wireless 3945abg..when I run kismet it says "could not connect to kismet server"

"No network seen" etc.I cant even replace kismet.conf.in file..

Please help

    Make sure your Kismet configuration is set to use the right port. Also, instead of 'localhost', try using '127.0.0.1'. Hope this helps. Oh, and you could try restarting the kismet server manually, or just dumping everything and reconfiguring from scratch (not the best choice, but for people with time on their hands...)
