It WAS written by men. It is full of contradictions and unbelievable blunders.
Just the other day I had a "gentleman" inform me that "According to the bible, god created the earth and all the inhabitants a MERE 6000 years ago!" He also went on to "educate" me with: "The dinosaurs NEVER existed, ALL fossils are FAKES...it says so IN THE BIBLE"!!!
I have been hearing stuff like this all my life to date!
The bible has some really valuable advice and teachings, BUT, I will never believe it was written by anyone other then mortal men.

The Bible was written over a 1600 year period by about 40 different writers spread out over three continents. Scripture tells us that these men wrote as inspired or directed by the Holy Ghost therefore whilst it has about 40 different men who penned the Scriptures, the Author was, in fact, the Lord Himself in the person of the Holy Spirit. We have proof that the Bible is the inspired Word of God because it contains hundreds of prophesies, most of which have come to pass with astonishing accuracy. These prophesies were well beyond the ability or foresight of man as man could not possibly have made these long term and precise predictions. The Lord spoke about the end times and they are clearly spelt out in the New Testament and today we see it happening all around us exactly like the Lord said. Just one of hundreds of prophesies which was made is found in the book of Micah in 5:2 where he wrote that the Lord would be born in Bethlehem. This prophesy was made 730+ years before the event and was well beyond the ability of man to have foreseen this event. In the days that this prophesy was made, Bethlehem was hardly even a dot on the map and might have had only about a dozen houses and even at the time of the birth, the population of Bethlehem was only between 500-600 people which is hardly a place one would expect a king to be born. One reason that the Lord made so many prophesies was so that when they came to pass the people would remember that it was the Lord who said it would and that they would believe on Him. he Lord has given everyone the choice of whether or not people receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and in so doing, they are immediately forgiven and pass from death into eternal life. Eternal life is a free gift and is given to any one at all who wants to spend eternity with Him. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

But you illogically start from a neutral point. That is the claim and you know it is the claim. It is on you. But to make it a debating point is useless. Why would anyone argue when the argument itself violates being a Christian ????????????
6“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine
"If you are the Christ, tell us."
But he said to them, "If I tell you, you won't believe, and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go. From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
They all said, "Are you then the Son of God?"
He said to them, "You say it, because I AM."

Christian faith doesn't require anyone to believe the Bible has all the answers. Because the Bible doesn't have all the answers. Among the answers NOT in the Bible is the doctrine of biblical inspiration.
I can't even figure out what you're asking in the second question.

empiricism fails its on test. empiricism states "I will only believe or accept what is true by which science can prove is true" well the problem with that is did or can anyon prove that statement to be true by use of scienctific testing. If a person proves it any other way than by science the statement then refutes it self, being it said truth can only come from scientific testing.
look up I dont have enough faith to be an atheist by frank turek

Nope, anyone with even a casual understanding of scripture, know that it does not have all the answers, just all the questions & it is up to each of us to search them for answers to our individual lives. We search for truth when it is mercy we really desire.

the empirical proof surfaces only upon belief ... not otherwise.
listen to your instincts ... they don't lie.

Only if you believe it.
