Beheaded back yard lizard?

I found a dead lizard in my back yard today , it's body was intact but its head was missing . We live in a rural area and I am curious as to what animal would eat the head off of a lizard.

    Cat, bird of prey but maybe got disturbed and left it there (likely not), i have seen rats and squirrels doing the same on a nest box cam

    Maybe a snake thinking it was something else. It could be anything that lives there

    A cat, a fox or a raccoon.

    Snake don't...can't..."bite off" anything. Only swallow whole.
