P is the principal, or initial amount deposited in the account;

r is the annual interest rate, expressed as a decimal;

n is the number of times per year the interest is compounded; and

t is the number of years.

Alicia has money that she wants to deposit in a college savings account.

She is considering how the amount in the account will grow based on different values of P.

C. If P is increased by $1,500, then A will be increased by $1,500.

D. If P is increased by $1,500, then (1 + r/n)nt will be increased by $1,500.

    Hello Gabby. Getting the Yahoo Answers community to do your homework for you may seem like a good idea but you will learn absolutely nothing. Mathematics is used in almost all job sectors and you need to become skilled at using it. Please pay more attention in class and if you don't understand something then stick your hand up and say so! Education is not easy and there are no short cuts.

    You obviously spent much time and effort in writing your question. Your time would have been better spent trying to understand it yourself or with a friend. Mathematics is not easy and you need to do many exercises before you develop some mastery of the subject; so don't despair. Best wishes, F.
