legality of body armour?
as active duty military i have my own issued set but i had been considering purchasing a personal set
i don't mean one of the thin second chance vests of just thin kevlar but one similar to my issued plate carrier with plates, soft armour, and MOLLE webbing its expensive however with the government going the way it is i would consider it an investment
however just because i can purchase it its obviously restricted to military and law enforcement personnel so what would be some issues i would have if i were so build my own personal rig
LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MILITARY ONLY
im not paranoid, mentally unstable or any form or it, just because a person has weapons or body armor does not make them violent or unstable my comment about the government meant right now a civil uprising is not an if but when, the country was built by rebels overthrowing a tyrannical government and the laws and taxes and state of the government now is more jacked up than it was then so when the people say enough i would like to be able to protect myself, my family and my loved ones from those who would do them harm
however i would like to go about purchasing this the same way i have every weapon, piece of equipment and round. in accordance with federal, state and local law

In the US, there are no restrictions for citizens to purchase or own ballistic vests.

I agree that having weapon and body armor is not an indication of mental problems. Not knowing how to capitalize words, not using ANY punctuation, and believing MOLLIE webbing has anything to do with armor, on the other hand, is a different story. Claiming to be active duty in the military, but believing Yahoo Answers is a better source of information on this topic than the local Jag office makes you sound like a TROLL, not an actual member of the military and/or the patriot you claim to be.

I do not know US and State Law but some people have armoured cars (which look ordinary outside) so I would think that passive protective clothing would be equally ok. For example, motor cyclists often wear knee elbow hip back and of course head armour - helluva precedent! You might fall foul of the Police as to having a reason for wearing military kit though; although you can't harm anyone with it, it implies an above average search for trouble!
Get a Psychiatrists letter that registers you paranoid, that'll maybe help.

There is no law prohibiting ownership of body armor- even to civilians (though there are companies will only sell to military and police only for Type 4-5). Just don't use one while committing a crime.
