1. Inflation and de-silvering of the denarius - emperors debased the currency in order to supply a demand for more coins. By debasing the currency is meant that instead of a coin having its own intrinsic value+, it was now only representative of the silver or gold it had once contained, kinda like how the dollar is today. By the time of 268 AD the amount of silver in a supposedly (100%) silver denarius was only .02%.
2. Luxury of the Emporers - Some emperors, like Nero and Commodus, severely depleted the Imperial coffers to pay for their own happiness.
3. Poor management and corruption
4. Panem et circenses - The Roman empire gave free bread and entertainment to the unemployed poor. (Sorta like EBT cards.) Obviously this costed millions
5. Barbarians sacking the treasury
6. Trade defecit
7. Size - The roman empire was too big, and costed too much to manage. Contradictorily, it stopped getting bigger after Trajan and therefore was not able to get revenue by war loot.
8. Rainfall - rainfall decreased and so logically so did farm production
9. Cost of government went up, GDP stayed the same
10. Wages of Army tripled
Those are simply the Economic reasons alone!
There you are. A mini lecture on the decline of roman economy.

Sure the Romans influence can be in all places. We can thank the Romans for many things we use today in the modern-day world. Our sanitation designs came from them, the grafite the Romans obtained from lava ash and put in cement combos to make it alot more enhanced, many constructing designs came from the Romans.Leonardo Da Vincys machines of war influenced what militarys have today, his body drawings helped clinical.I might go on and on.The Romans gave civilization a groundwork to work from. With out the Romans and their discoverys matters would have certainly not developed as they'd.Im no longer even Roman but generally have a few of their dna being three/4ths Brit. Of path if the Romans remained in vigour they might have learned many more new technologys without doubt.Civilization most effective acquired delayed as far as advancing in new technologys when the Romans fell.We would be so much extra along if the Romans stayed in vigor so it is a exciting query.
