Why are black people allowed to call white people names, but white people can't say anything back...?

I read some of the commentators here and can just shake my head. Seems racism for some is ok depending on who says what. Doesn't work that way.

Racism is wrong, whether a black person does it or a white person does it, or whoever does it. The past does not give you reason to be racist. Every group of people in the worLd, somewhere had a past where they were done in. Nobody has a monopoly on hardship. If that is some people's perception, then chances are they flunked world history. Only closet racists, give excuses for racist behaviour. Period! Only racists make excuses for what happened in the past, currently or what is going to happen. Wrong is wrong. Wrong is'nt all of a sudden "right" because someone has double standards due to prejudiced, or even ignorant views. The problem with the world today is, nobody has a backbone to speak up against wrong, and balance things equally and fairly regardless of the victim or perpetrator. People want to judge on their prejudices, and how they see the world rather than taking a step back and judge the actions of the person.

If the word "cracker" is used in a deragatory way, it is not less offensive than "******". It's racist. I read one commentator justify the word "cracker" as if it's ok. Some again say the word "******" refers to the Niger in Africa where slaves were from which refers to a region. So if we want to go on some of these excuses, then there's always an excuse to justify racism, or racist words. Does'nt work that way in life. When you use words in a negative way with hate and to belittle people from a different race, then it's racism. Again, I ask, what type of person would excuse racist terms, or injustice? The answer. Only someone with prejudices him or herself. A closet racist, hiding behind double stardards.

The world needs to catch a wake up and deal with issues, fairly, equally, and with the same energy as it would with anyone regarding racism. You don't get a free pass just because you're of a certain race. THAT, is racism from those who gives such excuses.

Racism is a human trait. Some racists want to say it's a white trait. So if it's a white trait and black people are incapable of racism, then that makes black people super human. Superior?

Racism is racism and the sooner people grow backbone's rather than trying to sound clever and be cool, the better for the whole world in moving forward. Some people are just too big a coward, and don't want to be "unpopular", so just say the "popular" thing. Too many cowards in the world, and not enough people with integrity.

I know this is late, but it's simply and honestly because the left wing profits so greatly from racial discord. Black racists, people with Black Panther connections, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and other, they have built their careers on racial discord. If Black Americans were ever to rise up and simply regard themselves as human beings like everyone else, not demand any extra concession, reject being treated like the special kid in class, people like Sharpton, Jackson, and the Black Panthers would lose everything.

Democrats would also lose a considerable chunk of their wealth and power, as most of it rides on black American's support and ability to be controlled. Without that, with a free equal black American society were everyone was equal across the board without regard to race, black Americans would turn right because the vast majority of them actually agree more with the right wing from economics all the way to morality. There probably isn't a black American alive who hasn't got family member who isn't a devout Christian, and black American atheists are almost unheard of.

So in order to maintain this loyalty from a group that would not naturally be inclined to such ardent and fierce loyalty to the left, Democrats use a lot of money and power over social programs to buy the loyalty of the black American grassroots movements, and maintain this illusion that they're fighting to help black Americans in spite of the evil racist white people, (Republicans and their supporters) and that the reason that black Americans can never get out of their dependence is not because of the programs that Democrats have provided, but because somehow, in some unknown way, evil rich white racists are pulling the strings and keeping black people from being able to get anywhere in life. This concept is very pervasive, and all throughout the grassroots movements that Democrats have the loyalty of.

The fact is, and has always been, Republicans and their conservative supporters simply regard black Americans as they do anyone else. They don't think that a black person should get an $1100/month paycheck simply because they were born black. Republican programs wouldn't be target specifically at black Americans, but would seek to help Americans across the board. In other words, if a woman with 3 kids can qualify for $800/month when making under a certain amount working, then all women with 3 kids would get the same, regardless of skin-color. However, Democrats will will discriminate and give black Americans more.

So, what happens is Democrats end up controlling the whole welfare system, and they design programs that literally force people to stay dependent upon them, and furthermore, seem to also foster an environment of crime and violence, immorality, and constant broken homes. Democrats control the vast majority of education, news media, and social programs that the vast majority of black Americans fall under. Before Democrats had this kind of control, broken homes in black communities were not that much more than anyone else. Now that Democrats have been the main "allies" of black Americans for the last some I think 40 or so years, not too many years after that Civil disobedience campaign Dr. King Jr led, and black Americans are literally the worse-off people in the free world.

Personally, I think that when Democrats realized that they were no longer going to be able to legally suppress black Americans, they conspired to find another way. To their fortune, a few Democrats that weren't racists, or at least fighting their own racism made some nice gestures, and the racists still so prevalent within the party capitalized on the opportunity, and made programs, and threw tons of money around buying up loyalty from groups, and fashioned programs that would enforced dependence, and thereby suppressing black Americans once again.

What the left will attempt to tell you is that the parties switched sides on the issue, and they'll site a time when a few Democrats switched to the Republican party like a few politicians from an enemy political party could effectually change the entire dynamic of an already fully established political party. Also, such a claim requires that they entirely ignore the simple little fact that just about everything Lincoln Republicans believed back then is what the Republicans today still believe, minus a few outdated policies such as whether black Americans would be better suited to all be deported to the Caribbean islands or remain within the states as citizens.

I see this a lot. I live in the United States, and I was born here. I'm Mexican American, though which makes me a minority I guess. I think it's unfair how black people call white people crackers and honkeys, but God forbid white people say the "N" word, let alone say...

I am a white man whose ancestors were slaves, the only difference is,my ancestors were fed to the lion's for the Italians entertainment. But time heals all wounds, my people got over it so I think that black people should move on with their lives, it's been over 149 years since slavery was abolished, get over it. And I don't care what you call me, just don't call me late for dinner....

First of all white people do say stuff back I see it all of the time. It's universally acknowledged that they aren't supposed to but the truth is that we all treat each other crappy.

Whites are NOT the privileged majority. No one in my family was born rich and no one in my family EVER received food stamps , free housing, free ride to college, free healthcare free anything. WE don't get by on affirmative action in school We have to actually get good grades to get a diploma.

It is different because of the historical relationship between white people and black people in America. Also, the N word was derived from what slave owners called slaves while "cracker" is just a reference for skin color.

Now, we can't really imagine how a person who's descended from a slave feels when they are called the N word. As a white person my ancestors were not slaves, not oppressed. I have a right to be offended when someone calls me "honky" as an insult but it does not have the layers of historical context that many words for black people do. I feel that it is pathetic (no offense directed at you) when someone who is not black acts like calling a white person honky is the equivalent of calling a black person the N word.

I have never actually see someone been called honky or cracker as anything but a friendly joke between close friends of different races, though it might be different where you live.

Who said they weren't? Im mixed and i dont call anyone a honkey cracker and i dont say the N word. I think its stupid that ppl would even fight over this.
