a question regarding a light bulb?

there's a light bulb that runs on 3 hours a day.. and supposed to l ast for 22.8 years... but the company will be using that light bulb for 24 hours a day... how long will the light bulb last then?

    the initial answer is correct when we used the bulb for 24hrs instead of 3 hrs we actually shorten the bulb total usage to .125 [.125 is the equivalent usage for 24hrs taken when we divide3hrs by 24hrs.since .125 isthe equivalent usage for 3hrs multiflying .125 by 8 will give a whole usage for 1 day .125 x 22.8 years will give a 2.85 years of usage.

    Total hours if 3hrs a day = 22.8*365*3 hrs

    Duration of bulb glowing = (22.8*365*3) / (24*365) = 2.85 years
