2001 f 150 ford p.u.L..H. catalytic convertor turns red Hot Why?

This V 6-- 4.2 engine has 4 oxy. sensors (1 in each exhaust )1 in each Cat. Convertor;

I replaced the L.H. convertor ,same problem"

    Check that you do not have an air intake restriction such as dusty air filter etc you could be producing excess Co which could be making the Cat very busy! or the Lambda/oxygen sensor perhaps not giving the correct fuel adjustment via the management system!?.

    They might be clogged. I seen some videos in youtube.com checking convertors with a temperature meter (eric the car guy) and another where after removed washed by (scotty kilmer). I would check if its clogged red hot converters are usually a sign of a exhaust restriction. carry a fire extinguisher. replace right away. good luck
