Best California Campsites for the College Crowd?
Me and about 5 other friends are planning a camping trip this summer, although we aren't very experienced campers. We're planning on taking an RV and are looking to go anywhere really (Big Sur, Sierra Nevada's, Tahoe?), our only requirements being that it's wooded, near some kind of body of water, and semi-secluded. Where the main question comes in is we are all about to be recent college graduates and definitely plan on drinking at night and possibly getting a bit rowdy; but most of the campsites I've been researching seem to be very family oriented with strict noise policies. Are there any nice campsites that are less strict and more accommodating to the "college crowd"? Thanks!
We also aren't opposed to staying in So Cal (Big Bear, Arrowhead, etc.)

You are asking for two different things: "Nice campsites" and "less strict". The two are polar opposites. "Less strict" really doesn't work at all. Nobody likes a bunch of loud, drunk college aged students except for said students. Sure, party for you folks, but when you keep the entire campground awake with noise, and leave trash and beer cans in your wake, it's no fun for everyone else.
I don't mean you specifically, but your predecessors. It's been a problem in the past, which is why rangers really clamp down on it. They don't like the extra mess, the invariable fights, and having to respond to disturbances late at night. Families don't like the extra noise, because they want to get some sleep in at night. This is a case of "When in Rome, do as the Romans do. There's nothing wrong with staying up late, you just have to keep it quiet after 10.
I think the real problem is getting a rental RV if you're under 25. Most RV rental places require the renter/driver to be 25 or older.
If you can get past all that, I would recommend some great RV parks:
Tahoe Valley Campground, South Lake Tahoe (full hookups, wifi, cable TV, pool)
Camp Richardson RV Park, South Lake Tahoe (full hookups)
Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, Big Sur (no hookups)
Big Sur RV Park and Cabins (full hookups)
Yosemite Valley- Upper Pines, Lower Pines, North Pines Campgrounds (no hookups)
Carpinteria State Beach (full hookups in Santa Rosa and San Miguel campgrounds)

Huntington and Newport are in general the nicest seashores. Huntington has fire pits to be able to have a bonfire. Newport, through Balboa Pier, has the fun zone. Santa Monica has the noted pier. Venice seaside, simply to the south, has muscle beach and the street performers. Low cost campsites are really to not be found. There aren't any practically the town of los angeles at all. The closest to the north is Leo Carillo State Park. The closest to the south is Doheny State seaside. Each have fireplace rings, showers, and flush toilets. Have enjoyable!
