Is there any type of working visa for Americans visiting Canada?

Tourists are tourists and workers are workers.

The Canadian Government considers those very different things.

Tourists can visit Canada for up to 6 months but they're prohibiting from working.

Foreigners that want to get temporary jobs here have to apply for a Work Permit.

But there's a ton of government regulations and requirements that have to be met to get one:

Foreigners that want to stay in Canada permanently have to apply to immigrate.

There's a whole separate bunch of rules & requirements to get Permanent Resident Status.

There's no special anything just for American citizens.

We treat all foreigners equally when it comes to that stuff.

No. Americans have to apply for work permits or Permanent Residence from outside of Canada. There are no visas for an indefinite time until a backlog is cleared.

Tourists may not work or seek work in Canada.

Actually we don't treat all foreigners equally. There is a one year working holiday visa for citizens of the [British] Commonwealth. The US opted out of that in 1776...
