It depends on what you are looking for. Yes Apple has a smaller chance of getting viruses. But then again, the Android operating system is no different then your PC. As long as you don't download any apps that have any bad recommendations, or any type of history, you wont have a problem. And antivirus apps are usually free like Avast.

Apple's iPhone has a smaller screen and it's a lower resolution as well. So if you want to watch lot's of movies on your phone, the Galaxy is the better option.

The iPhone 5 has a more user friendly operating system, but it is no where near as customizable, or as capable as the Android software on the Galaxy S4. Android has many more features.

According to most reports and studies, The Samsung phones are the most reliable phones in the Android world. (One report was on Yahoo just last month!) iPhones are also reliable as far as smart phones go. But both can and do suffer from software bugs from time to time. Neither phone is perfect.

In terms of expandable storage and replaceable battery, the Galaxy is the only option if you are looking for that. The Galaxy can be expanded to 128GB if you place a 64GB micro SD card into the 64GB Galaxy phone. (Get the micro SD card from SanDisk that is optimized for Android for best results.) It is readily available at Wal-Mart.

If your battery goes bad in the iPhone, you will have to send it out for repair. With the Galaxy S4, go on Amazon and get yourself a new battery for $20.00 + shipping and put it in yourself.

The Galaxy is also a newer hand set. So it is about twice as fast as the iPhone 5 in raw performance. However, phones with only half the power of the iPhone 5 have no problem running apps. In real world performance, it is usually negligible in most situations.

Both handsets will be supported through software updates too. The Galaxy will be getting Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. And the iPhone will get IOS 7.

So as you can see, both handsets are very capable devises. And both have there pro's and con's. Both phones have there fan bases who will also defend these two devises to the bitter end!

Go to the store and play with both devises to see which one stands out to you. See which operating system feels the most natural to you.

Which phone is better? That is up to you.

PS. The Galaxy S4 is the first smartphone to also feature Gorilla Glass 3. So it may be a little more durable when it comes to scratches on the screen compared to the iPhone 5.

    I hope this helps! ^_^

Now if you will excuse me, I have a lots of work to do. Hmm...? Now where did that little filly Apple Bloom run off too?

The choice completely depends on you. If you are looking for a Android Phone I would tell you go for Samsung Galaxy S4. Again, it also depends on what phone were you using previously? If you are a fan of iOS, there is no point in asking which phone to go for. Not only me, but all will actually urge you to go for iPhone 5. But yeah, if you are looking for a phone with millions of features and are ready to dig your pocket big, "Go for Samsung Galaxy S4." Moreover, Samsung Galaxy S4 won't give you the look that it is worth. But iPhone definitely has some excellent looks and is quite easy to operate as well. As the saying goes "look before you leap", have a look at both the phones, think about your use and your pocket before choosing any of the two.

Hope I answered the question well!! :-)

Both phones are really excellent phones. iPhones have great security and are very user friendly, all the apps are preapproved so no chance of malware, and you can purchase additional protection (Apple Care). The downside is the phones can be a little limited and if you call technical support without Apple Care, be expected to pay up to $30 a call, but if all your products are MAC and Iphones, it's great because all of it can be integrated.

Samsungs make great phones too. I mean, the screen alone is the winner for me. There's more choice with apps and Air View (hover your finger over something to preview it) and unlike the iphone which has tempered glass screens, the samsung has guerrilla glass and will be a lot harder to crack if you're a clutz like me.

I would recommend the iPhone 5s because my cousin had two samsung galaxy's and both caught virus's, one was bought at his retailer and one was refurbished.

The iPhone will be more safer and reliable than a samsung because while the Samsung had a virus, it charged him money from his bank account! I've had a iPhone for 1 year now and it is working just fine for me, has a wonderful HD camera that I think is way better than the samsungs camera, you can focus better with it and zoom up further than the s4s! So I think you should get a iPhone

Iphone has the best security by far of any smartphone (because all code gets reviewed first before it can get into the appstore). To me thats the most important thing with a phone, no need to run antivirus or worry about what you are installing on it.
