I got home this afternoon to find that a stray dog had found its way into my yard how can I get it out?

Pick it up and move it, call animal control etc If its a chihuahua its not stray. Give it treats pet it and hold it. Put a leash on.it or carry around and put up a found dog poster

You should contact No-Kill Shelters/Rescue's. Do not take it to the pound.
Put it on Craigslist as well. They're people there who would love to adopt a Chihuahua.

Call the dog pound

You should take it to the vet to see if it has a chip. Chances are, when you try to get him out, he thinks your playing. He probably likes it there.
