How to shine up faded paint?

So I've got a 73 dodge dart with the original paint, the paint is kinda faded, are there any temporary ways to shine it up, I've heard rubbing WD-40 on can make it look better. I personally don't really care if it damages the paint, I'm going to paint it pretty soon, I just want it to look a bit better when I'm driving it around.

    clean the car well apply a good wax on it and polish it that should do the job ok .

    HI, TRY RUBBING COMPOUND. IT'LL HELP IF THE PAINT IS GOOD BUT JUST FADED.
