How do I find old military records of my father?

My father died when I was young and I'm trying to find out as much as I can about him. I can find out about his civilian life, of course, but not his military records. How can I do that? It's been quite a few years since he was in the army, and I've tried looking, but I'm really not sure where the proper place to contact is, or even if records from the late 50s/early 60s can be pulled.

Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at https://bitly.im/aOknF

Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest payment.

You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a background check.

If he was in the military and you know about when and which branch he was in, you can look through the basic training records from his boot camp to figure out when he graduated and begun moving around the country. Most of the basic training web sites will post flight or squadrine photos with names on the bottom. Knowing that, you will be able to search the information on his career and where he ended up and for how long. contact the pentagon, they might not tell you all thay much, but they keep records of all us military members on file forever. including blood type, dna and much much more personal informations. its worth a shot. also, if you know hiw name, yahoo has a people finder, and its pretty good. there are millions of background checking websites as well, they all charge you anywhere between 20-100 bucks but they will give you in depth info on him. get as much info on him off of your birth records and social security information. if you can find his social, you can find anything on him.

Contact the Pentagon and request copies of his service record. I doubt the records would be found online.
