What color will my hair fade?

So here is the whole big story: I had my hair box-dyed red. The top was still vibrant but my ends were very faded. I wanted to go get my hair professionally done, and I wanted it to be like my natural medium brown again with blonde ombre ends, that way when it grows out I wouldn't have to dye it or touch it up with my roots.. I showed the stylist pictures and explained in detail what I wanted, and she said okay. Instead, she didn't even strip out my red. She covered it with a DARK brown (almost black), and bleached the ends. I don't know if it'll fade red again or my natural color with a red tint...
