Girl says she likes me but can't maintain eye contact?

I took a girl to lunch today but the whole time she couldn't look me in the eye. All the girls at work tell me she likes me but all the signs she gave me were of disinterest. Is she just shy or is she not into me anymore?

The same thing happens with me. Behind the scenes, my friends tell me that I am all that she talks about. I am convinced that she is head-over-heels for me, but she rarely shows it when I am around.

Try not to appear aggressive. I make this mistake because I forget to smile, which is a huge mistake for a girl that has just started talking to you. It makes you look uninterested.

Perhaps she is just the shy type. Use this to your advantage. Say "You're a shy one, aren't you..." with a romantic flair, and I guarantee her face will flush.

Explain to her, not just in words, that you are an approachable guy. Do not be forceful (i.e. "It's okay...tell me all your secrets...")

Remember, things are different when your friends/her friends aren't around. All of this inflated peer pressure can cause you to like her superficially, but when the hype is over, you'll lose interest. If she is genuinely turned off, she will rarely approach you.

Some people are just nervous to look people in the eye, it can be intimidating to them, or just really scary if they really like them! So, it may not be disinterest... but quite the opposite:)
