When i look in the mirror i look really pretty but when i take pictures i look ugly?

OMG I am the exact same! I do not photograph very well at all. I look fine in reality but in pictures I look awful! Whenever I take facial shots they just come out terribly and you can see any spots and my facial expressions look terrible, I look so moody. Some people just aren't very photogenic. Don't worry too much, the best thing I find is not to try too hard. It's when you start posing like crazy trying to get a good photo but it comes out awful but when you relax your face it looks better. It's really true when they say the camera adds 10 pounds. I have a friend who is very slender in person, but in pictures she looks a bit big. Some people are the opposite and look great in photos but bad in person. I had a modelling shoot for my birthday once and the photographer once worked with Kate Moss and he said that she photographs beautifully, but looks gruesome in reality. Those were his exact words!

Maybe go for a day to get some professional photos done and the photographer can teach you how to pose and take flattering pictures. If not you could just look up some tips on google or just experiment with different settings on your camera. I find sometimes lighting makes a difference. Hope this helped!

OH BELIEVE ME,every.single.person.is.like.that .the reason is because I when u luk in the mirror ur eyes see clearly and with ever angle but when it's a camera it's just A lense.it gets frustrating I know becaus maybe your looking good and u wanna take a pic to upload it on fb and the it turns out crap.i guarantee u every single girl or boy take like 50 shots before picking the perfect one because they keep repeating their pose over and over till it looks right.dont worry ur not the only one am the same too just take loads of pics and pic the best one:)

My guess is that when you are looking in the mirror the lighting is usually good plus u see your eyes aligned and looking at yourself.

Cameras catch bad lighting, bad angles and bad poses. Figure out what is your best photographic angle and always pose with that angle or look. Most people don't like their profiles.

When a photo is taken, it's the lights bouncing and reflecting of different parts of your face. That doesn't mean you aren't' pretty. It means you aren't photogenic.

i feel your pain! it is the same with me. everytime i look in the mirror and think i look good, i try and take a picture and it ends up looking horrible. i would say its the way you look in the mirror because its reflecting it, and the camera has lighting factors that play in. idk lol.
