Do I drop Derek Jeter?

I heard Derek Jeter the Yankees shortstop is out till all star break in mid July. Do I drop him and pick another shortstop. I have Mark T from New York Yankees and Curtis Granderson from NY Yankees. How long are they out for?

Depends on the rest of your team and who else is injured. If you can stash him then go ahead, but I'd recommend dropping him. His fantasy value is at an All-Time low seeing as he was only a singles hitter to begin with and now is a singles hitter at age 39 coming off serious ankle surgery that didn't heal the way they wanted. So yes, drop Derek Jeter.

Granderson and Teixeira have much more fantasy value because of their power, and both are coming back in under a month. Definitely hang onto those two because they could wind up being big contributors. The timetable for both is a mid-May return.

Jeter is coming back after the All-Star break. Try and trade for some half decent players or wait it out for Teixeira and Granderson. But Granderson and Tex should be back soon so you could just wait because they drop bombs and Granderson steals base and gets a lot of runs as well

Jeter has not for years been a viable SS option in a standard Yahoo roto league so I can not imagine why you even have him. You must be a Yankee fan and there is nothing wrong with that but if you are going to play fantasy sports successfully you need to learn to play with your head and not your heart. Granderson shuld be on your DL and Tex should probably be in the trash pile. But we do not know who else you have since you did not give us that info.

    Good luck.

Depends on who your Starting SS is right now. If you hold on to him, trade him in July and get 50 cents on the dollar. SS is a very scarce position and someone in your league might need him for a playoff run. Dumping him now would mean getting less than 10 cents on the dollar and your goal as an owner is getting maximum possible value back in a trade.

Teixeira and Granderson have more value than Jeter and will be back sooner than him. Jeter, honestly, is all but finished. Years of degenerate steroids use have taken their toll on his body and he is literally cracking up.

There's no point in holding onto a one-legged player who may or may not return this season. Cut your losses and send Jeter packing. Both Teixeira and Granderson should be back by the middle of May.
