How do I change the name that my router appears?
I think whoever used to own it gave it a silly name and, while no one sees it, I'd like to change it.

If you didn't set it up, then you might have to reset the config to factory and reconfigure it. The typical config methods are a program (usually on a PC) or directly via a web interface.
The SSID does not need to be broadcasted, so no one sees it. This is also in the configuration.

If you mean the SSID on WiFi, then everyone sees it. There must be a config setting to change it - try searching for SSID or ESSID in the manual or help screens
